Planting Seeds: An Ostara Spring Equinox Flower Ritual

The Wheel of the Year shifts to Ostara on the Spring Equinox, which is also a Full Moon. We are being reborn as we emerge from our winter sleep, ready to partake of all the pleasures and joys of the earth.

Ostara is a lunar goddess of Spring. Known around the world by many names - Cybele, Asase Yaa, Saraswati, Eostre, Freyja - she has been honored, worshipped and celebrated for thousands of years.  Ostara is a time of renewal and rebirth. It is a time of new fire. The light and the dark are in perfect balance, momentarily, just before the Sun bursts forth with new energy.  The Sun, the Moon, Ostara and Mother Gaia are calling us. They are sending us a very clear message:  Begin.  Shine.  Grow.

In this ceremony, we will release the darkness of winter and honor the Full Moon with a fire ritual. We will welcome the light into our bodies with a Crocus flower medicine journey, and invite new life by creating wildflower seed bags to plant with our intentions for this new season.

All materials included. Please bring a flower or crystal to place upon our communal altar.
